Talk of traveling to Italy to visit (very) distant cousins was how this trip began, so on day 30 we visited … The Venetian. K. found St. Mark's Square to be "beautiful." Though neither Cynthia nor I recall seeing any Blue Men in the actual square in Venice. Italy is missing out.

Last night, we dined at the Flamingo with one of my college roommates, Lich Tran, who does marketing for Harrah's properties. Although we aren't high rollers, Lich made us feel like "VIPs," a nice way to begin the final stretch of our family adventure.

Meanwhile, Grandpa Pete says it's going to be 112 out today. After we finish our brief walk along the Strip [yes, Michelle, the card guys are already out!!] the fam is going to hit the Flamingo pool before the thermometer hits triple digits, then head indoors to Grandpa's house.

Home tomorrow …
